What’s New in the French Quarter

Eight recent openings for coffee, dinner and a night of music.

Updated October 16, 2026

Leave a little room in your itinerary. A courtyard beside Preservation Hall, a seafood tasting room on North Rampart and a coffee window with an edible cup are among the newer reasons to explore the French Quarter.

This October edit gathers eight openings worth knowing about, from late 2025 through 2026. Every address is inside the neighborhood’s Canal Street, North Rampart, Esplanade Avenue and river boundaries. It’s a selective guide, with enough variety to find something for a quick stop or an evening you’ve planned ahead.

Le Spectacle

730 St. Peter Street · Opening announced October 5, 2026

There’s a new place to make an evening of your Preservation Hall visit. Le Spectacle combines a café, bar, restaurant and courtyard next door, with shareable dishes and space to settle in before or after the music. Its opening schedule starts in the afternoon, so plan around a later visit. For a pre-show table, Preservation Hall recommends booking an hour to an hour and a half before your performance. Give yourself time to enjoy both.

Holywater

622 Conti Street · Opened September 23, 2026

Oysters downstairs, dinner upstairs: Holywater gives you two ways to approach the evening. Chef Alex Harrell’s menu draws on Gulf seafood and Louisiana flavors, while Neal Bodenheimer leads the cocktails. The former maritime chandlery adds another layer to the setting. The street-level oyster bar is primarily for walk-ins; the upstairs dining room takes a limited number of reservations. Choose the version that suits your night, then check the current service days before heading over.

The Crustacean Club

1036 North Rampart Street · New in May 2026

On the Quarter side of North Rampart, The Crustacean Club puts Gulf seafood at the center of two distinct experiences. Book the Club Room for a five-course tasting menu, or choose the Oyster Bar for oysters, house fries, caviar and Champagne. The Club Room requires a reservation; the smaller oyster bar welcomes walk-ins when space allows. This is a useful pick when dinner is the main event. Decide which room you want before reserving.

Cajun Beignet & Bar

329 Decatur Street · Open by May 2, 2026

Beignets take several directions at Cajun Beignet & Bar. Alongside the sweet options, the menu includes savory versions with bulgogi beef and crawfish étouffée. Coffee, cocktails and other dishes round things out. It’s an easy place to put on your Decatur Street list when your group wants something playful and has different appetites. Read the sweet and savory sections before ordering; a beignet here can be dessert or the start of lunch.

only coffee

1040 Esplanade Avenue · Early 2026 debut

At the Esplanade and Rampart edge of the Quarter, only coffee serves the Waffolino, a cappuccino in a chocolate-lined waffle cone. Classic espresso drinks are available, too. This is a coffee stop, so plan your meal elsewhere and let the window be a small detour during a neighborhood walk. The Esplanade address is the operating location featured here; the separately announced French Market branch is still coming soon.

Fifi Parée

621 St. Louis Street · Opening announced October 24, 2025

Inside the Omni Royal Orleans lobby, Fifi Parée takes its design cues from a Parisian flower shop, with green tones and a hand-painted floral mural. Congregation Coffee, pastries and grab-and-go food make it a useful stop before browsing nearby Royal Street. The café lists an early-morning opening. Keep it in mind when you want coffee before the rest of your day gets moving.

Three Maries Jazz Club

621 St. Louis Street · January 2026 debut

The same hotel has a new reason to return after dark. Three Maries Jazz Club is a 68-seat room with local performers, cocktails and small plates. Its scale makes it an option for an evening built around a seated music stop. Start with the live-music schedule, choose a performance that interests you and check the reservation details. The club is already open, even as the hotel’s broader renovation continues.

Succotash NOLA

1041 Dumaine Street · Opened December 31, 2025

Chef Kimberly “Chef K” Cochran’s Succotash NOLA brings Southern cooking to the former Marti’s and Peristyle address. Cochran’s approach emphasizes using the whole animal and reducing kitchen waste, with dishes rooted in the food she grew up eating. The menu changes, so treat a dish you’ve seen in an opening story as inspiration rather than a promise. Look at the latest offerings and reserve a table when a slower dinner fits the plan.

Make room for a new favorite

Choose one or two stops that fit naturally into your day. Pair Le Spectacle with a Preservation Hall performance, or work a coffee stop into a Royal Street browse. You can leave the rest for another visit.

Menus, service days and music schedules can change quickly, especially at new venues. Check the linked official pages before setting out, and ask directly about dietary or access needs.
